Blanquita Cullum

Blanquita Walsh Cullum currently serves as the President of the National Association of Radio Talk Show Hosts (NARTSH). Every year since 1995, she has continually been named by TALKERS Magazine, the trade publication for the industry, as one of the Top 100 Broadcasters in Talk Radio. She is the President and Founder of the Young American Broadcasters Program, an educational training program directed to college students interested in the field of Broadcasting.
President George W. Bush nominated Ms. Cullum to serve as a Governor on the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG). She was confirmed by the United States Senate to that position in November 2002. The BBG is the governing arm of the United States Governments Radio and Television Broadcasting entities, such as the Voice of America, Radio Free Asia, Radio Free Europe, Radio SAWA, World Television, Radio Marti to mention a few.

This body serves in effect as the CEO’s of all U.S. International Broadcasting. Ms. Cullum is the first Hispanic woman and the first radio talk show host to serve on this prestigious Board.
President George W. Bush also appointed Ms. Cullum to the National Moment of Remembrance Commission in April 2000. The Commission is honoring the memory of veterans who have paid the ultimate price in service of our Nation. She now serves in an advisory capacity to that Commission. She was awarded the Corporate Achievement Award by Vista Magazine for paving the way for Hispanics in broadcasting. Ms. Cullum was awarded the Distinguished Service Award by Project Interchange for her broadcasting and work in Israel.
Blanquita Cullum frequently appears on national network and talk shows for CNN, FOX, MSNBC, the BBC, Canadian Broadcasting, Good Morning America, the CBS Nightly News, CSpan, Politically Incorrect and others. She recently led a delegation of broadcasters to Saudi Arabia and Israel on behalf of NARTSH and Talkers Magazine.
The “BQ View” has received extensive media coverage. The program has been featured in the New York Times, USA Today, Business Week, Hispanic Magazine, the Washington Post, the Washington Times, Houston Chronicle, Los Angeles Times, The New Republic, Boston Globe, National Journal to mention just a few. Ms. Cullum was the subject of a Doonesbury Cartoon.
Ms. Cullum has raised two children as a single head of household mother. She has a daughter, Blanquita Etelvina Cullum age 26 and James Willson Cullum age 21.
